Decorative Art ] Restoration ] Commission

Commission work could be described as the next business level above custom products.  This usually applies to larger projects requiring a formal authorization to develop the project proposal, create a design and then execute the ironwork to a contract.  Hot Iron Blacksmith is available to do all aspects of the commission work.  Bud Harvey is an experienced product development engineer and  previously maintained accreditation as a Nationally Certified Purchasing Manager.  I ask a 50% deposit to commence work, and balance due prior to shipping.

Decorative Art

Ironwork can create the style of design or can compliment the overall decorative design theme.  The choice is only limited by the desire of the customer.  Hot Iron Blacksmith has historical architectural references and personal experience to provide decorative art works to meet the entire range of customer requests.  The hand hammer forging process provides a wide variety of design and style of ironwork.

Restoration

The history of ironwork in America extends to the time of the exploration of the New World.  Ironwork came from the old world in forms of armament, tools and decorative art.  Eventually the craft and tradesmen established the capabilities to produce the products needed in the colonies and in the south western regions of the country.  These products have survived in various degrees through the centuries since they were originally created by the blacksmith in their country of origin.  There is no question metal working capabilities existed in many locations of the old world and the new world that surpasses the talents of most or possibly all who are working in the field today.  Be that as it is, the ability to recreate products of past artists is still often requested of today's blacksmith.
